Accounts Payable Associate
Kansas City Repertory Theatre is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Associate to be responsible for full-cycle accounts payable processing and coordinating assigned activities within the accounts payable function to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Timely processing and payment of invoices;
- Organize and maintain accurate vendor files;
- Obtain approvals for expenditures from appropriate parties;
- Match invoices with packing slips, determine or verify coding to appropriate expense accounts, and enter into the accounts payable Financial Edge program;
- Respond to vendor inquiries including vendor statement reconciliations;
- Answer staff inquiries regarding invoices and/or invoice procedures;
- Maintain accurate records of contracted labor, prepaid expenses, and credit card statements;
- Prepare and process 1099s;
- Perform Accounts Payable month-end reconciliations; and
- Understand the accounting software as it pertains to the daily responsibilities of the position.
Requirements include:
- An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping Certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration is required;
- 2-4 years experience in full-cycle accounts payable;
- Experience in accounting and MS Office Suite is required. Experience with the Financial Edge software is preferred;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills;
- Accomplish difficult or numerous situations, duties, and responsibilities with poise and composure within the required deadline;
- Exhibit vendor focused behavior building and enhancing vendor relationships, and demonstrate excellent organizational and problem solving skills; and
- Ability to pass criminal background check.

Internships and Job Shadowing
Internships
Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s Internship Program is focused on creating opportunities for collaborative relationships between high school and college-aged students and the KC Rep’s experienced theatre professionals. This program will use a combination of hands-on experience, professional training and mentorships to introduce students to the skills required to become the next generation of artists and arts administrators. We are committed to encouraging and guiding students through the transition from student to professional and tailor each internship experience to the current needs of our organization and to the experience and objectives of the intern.
Arts Management Internships are designed for candidates who intend to make
arts administration their profession. Intern schedules are negotiable, but
would typically fall between the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday- Friday.
Creative and Production interns are flexible and would include evening and
weekend hours.
Internships are unpaid but students are encouraged to apply for college credit
through their respective universities.
All Interns will be provided with hands-on, real world experience in a professional
theatre environment. Interns will be full members of their departments, requiring
them to attend appropriate departmental and staff meetings. The KC Rep Theatre’s
staff will provide each intern with training, guidance, and professional knowledge.
In addition, interns receive free admission to Rep productions and the opportunity

Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s Job Shadowing Program gives local students an opportunity to shadow a member of KC Rep’s professional staff for a day or an event as a slice-of-work life view into a career in the theatre or arts administration.
